ICB hands over Tk 13.5m to govt as dividend

The Investment Corporation of Bangladesh (ICB) Sunday handed over Tk 13.50 million (1.35 crore) to Finance Minister AMA Muhith as dividend, reports UNB.
Chairman of the board of directors of the state-owned asset management company Dr M Khairul Hossain handed over a cheque for the amount to the Finance Minister at the Finance Ministry in the city on the day.
The dividend was approved at the 33rd Annual General Meeting of the company on November 21, 2009.
The AGM had approved the cash dividend at a rate of Tk 5 per share of Tk 100 each and 1:1 bonus share for the year ended on June 30, 2009.
The government share was 27 percent as of November 4, 2009 and the government was entitled for receiving Tk 13.50 in cash dividend and 27,00,000 bonus shares against the holding.
The market value of the 27,00,000 bonus shares was Tk 9.57 billion as of January 20, 2010.
Finance Secretary Dr Mohammad Tareque, Additional Secretary (Banking) Md Shafiqur Rahman Patwari, ICB Managing Director Md Humayun Kabir were, among others, present on the occasion.
