ICB Islamic Bank holds 22nd AGM

The 22nd annual general meeting (AGM) of ICB Islamic Bank Limited was held at the Trust Milonayatan in the city Sunday, said a press release.
Chaired by ICB Islamic Bank Chairman Tan Sri Hadenan Bin Abdul Jalil, the meeting was attended, among others, by its board of directors members Harith Bin Harun, Abdul Hafiz Chowdhury and Prem Kumar, Managing Director Masihul Huq Chowdhury, Deputy Managing Director Rajuendran Marrapan and Company Secretary Habibullah Monju.
All senior officials of the bank and a good number of its shareholders were also present on the occasion.
The bank's chairman said, "Despite the global financial crisis, ICB Islamic Bank has successfully overcome the initial obstacles and started regaining the confidence of its clients".
The management was confident that the bank would be able to increase its customers, deposit, market share etc. and thus generate higher return for the shareholders' investment, he said.
The reorganisation efforts are being started to show improvements in the bank's overall operation and market perception although it has to be acknowledged that more time is required before a turnaround in the financial performance can be achieved, he added.A good number of shareholders discussed various issues of the bank in details and offered their suggestions for its growth.
The chairman thanked the shareholders for their continuous support and confidence shown to the bank.
He also expressed his satisfaction to the officials and employees of the bank for their sincerity and hard work to implement the revised strategies adopted commensurate with the changes of competitive atmosphere of the banking business.
