ICB Islamic Bank reports record withdrawals

ICB Islamic Bank has announced it has honoured withdrawals totalling Tk 498 million this year as of May 14.
This is a record amount of withdrawals in the first four and a half months of the year, says a statement of the bank.
The management and staff are making all-out efforts to handle the liquidity challenges posed by these significant withdrawal requests from the customers, the bank said.
"We are actively communicating with Bangladesh Bank for assistance in resolving this issue. And we are committed to overcoming the situation by the end of this month," it added.
The bank urged its customers to extend their support and cooperation during this short period.
It also emphasised that no loan irregularities have occurred during the period of ICB Islamic Bank's operations.
