ICC umpires donate to Operation Cleft

The Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires on Thursday made a donation of US$ 10,000 (BDT 777,000) to the Operation Cleft charity, a unique Rotary project that provides free cleft repair surgery for underprivileged children in Bangladesh. Members of the Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires, Kumar Dharmasena and Richard Kettleborough, on behalf of their colleagues, presented the cheque to representatives of Operation Cleft at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Thursday, said an ICC media release on Thursday. The Emirates Elite Panel of ICC Umpires has supported chosen charities for the last five years. Donations include US$ 10,000 and SLR one million to the United Kingdom’s Motor Neuron Disease Research and Sri Lanka’s Chitra Lane charity during the ICC World Twenty20 2009 and 2012 respectively, according to a news agency.
