ICMAB delegation calls on finance secretary

A delegation of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) headed by its President Mohammed Salim, FCMA, called on Fazle Kabir,  secretary for finance, Finance Division, at his office on Sunday, according to a press release.
The ICMAB delegation apprised the finance secretary of the role of Cost and Management Accountants and their contribution to establishment of transparency, accountability and corporate governance in business and industrial sectors of the country.
ICMAB president briefed the secretary about the short and long term development planning of the profession. He also emphasized on improvement of the existing education and examination system including modernisation of library and class room facilities for the students. The delegation sought active support and guidance of the finance secretary in connection with implementation of those schemes for the development of CMA profession.
Finance secretary appreciated the significant role of Cost and Management Accountants and emphasized on expansion of the professional activities of the Institute. He assured of all possible help and assistance for the development of the Institute as well as the CMA profession.
Arif Khan, FCMA, vice president, Muzaffar Ahmed, FCMA, council member and A.K.M Nazrul Islam, FCMA, executive director of the Institute, were present on the occasion.
