ICMAB holds CPD programme

The Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) organised a two-day Continuing Professional Development (CPD) programme at the ICMAB Ruhul Quddus Auditorium in the city recently, said a press release.
Commerce Minister Mohammad Faruk Khan attended the inaugural session as the chief guest
ICMAB President Md Abdul Aziz, and its past president and Chairman of Seminar and Conference Committee AKM Delwer Hussain spoke on the occasion, while the institute's Treasurer and past president Md Abdur Rashid gave vote of thanks.
Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited (IBBL) Senior Vice-president Mohammad Nesar Uddin, Eastern Bank Limited head of Financial Operations and Control Muhammad Maniruzzaman, BCS (Tax) Academy Additional Director Ranjan Kumar Bhowmik and RZ Power Limited Manager (Accounts & Admn) Arifur Rahman Meethu presented the papers on 'IAS 36 -- Impairment of Assets', 'Financial Instruments: Presentation, Recognition and Measurement covered by IAS 32 and IAS 39', 'Accounting for Income Tax covered by IAS 12', and 'IAS 23 -- Borrowing Costs and IFRS 8 -- Operating Segments' in four technical sessions respectively.
