ICMAB holds CPD seminar

The institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Bangladesh (ICMAB) organised a CPD (Continuing Professional Development) seminar on Managing Business Risk: Let Insurance Handle It in the city on Saturday.
President of ICMAB Mohammed Salim, FCMA, inaugurated the CPD programme as the chief guest, said a press release.
Managing Director & CEO of Pragati Insurance Md Manirul Islam and Deputy Managing Director Syed Sehab Ullah Al-Manjur were the key resource persons at the seminar.
The objective of the seminar is to enhance the knowledge and skills of ICMAB members in the areas of managing business risks by engaging and adopting right insurance policies to safeguard business assets, business revenue & profits and life of employees.
Addressing the seminar, the speakers said in a competitive and challenging environment prevailing in the business, it is important to increase members' capacity in the areas of insurance system, procedure and internal control mechanism.
The Cost and Management Accountants are the guardians of the business and to manage risks, insurance could be the solution, they mentioned.
Both the resource persons discussed details of all the insurance policies and also Pragati's new products to help the business sector as much as possible.
The enterprise to enterprise collaboration between ICMAB and Pragati Insurance may play an important role to expedite the economic growth of the country, they observed.
Among others, Chairman of ICMAB Training Committee Mohammad Ali Nawaz, FCMA and Vice Chairman Naba Krishna Muni, FCMA, also spoke on the occasion.
About 100 members took part at the seminar.
