ICMAB holds meet on 'strengthening financial reporting'

A World Bank sponsored meeting on 'Strengthening Accounting and Auditing Standards and Practices in the Corporate Sector (Commerce Ministry Part)' was held at the ICMAB Bhaban in the city recently.
Project Director and Joint Secretary for Ministry of Commerce Md Showkat Ali Waresy presided over the meeting, said a press release.
Delegates from ICMAB, ICAB and National University took part in the meeting.
The ICMAB delegate include, among others, Acting President ABM Samsudddin, Secretary ASM Shaykhul Islam and Executive Director MA Matin.
The meeting reviewed the progress of the project and took a decision to conduct training programmes on 'international financial reporting standards (IFRS)'.
Thirty-five persons who have recently got training on IFRS in London, UK will take the responsibility to train other concerned Bangladeshis.
A detailed work plan was chalked out in the meeting to complete the training programme on time.
Necessary budget was also allocated for the same in the meeting.
