ICS RU chief sued over BCL leader murder

RAJSHAHI UNIVERSITY, Apr 6: A case was filed against eight persons including president of Islami Chhatra Shibir (ICS), Rajshahi University (RU) unit Ashraful Alam Emon, for allegedly killing Chhatra League leader Rustom Ali Akhnda at Shaheed Suhrawardi Hall on Friday.
The case was filed with Matihar thana around 10:30pm Saturday.
ABM Rezaul Karim, officer in charge (OC) of Motihar thana confirmed this to the newsmen.
OC said, Mehedi Hasan a residential student of Suhrawardi Hall and also vice president of BCL university unit filed the case.
Four persons were named in the case including Shibir university unit president Emon while others were not disclosed by OC.
Rustam Ali Akhand, a final year student of political science department and former joint general secretary of Suhrawardi Hall unit of BCL was shot dead in his room by unidentified miscreants.
Deceased was also a president aspirant of Shahid Sohrawardi Hall unit in the upcoming council on April 10.
