ICSB seminar on 'Leadership and Human Resource Development'

The Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) organised a seminar titled "Leadership and Human Resource Development" at the Dhaka Club in the city on Monday.
Renowned economist and former Bangladesh Bank governor Dr Atiur Rahman was present as the chief guest and presented a keynote paper on "Leadership and Human Resource Development" while President of the Institute Mohammad Asad Ullah delivered a welcome speech, says a statement.
Rupali Chowdhury, Managing Director of Berger Paints Bangladesh Limited and President of Bangladesh Association of Publicly Listed Companies (BAPLC), was present as guest of honour.
Director and Chief Executive Officer of LafargeHolcim Bangladesh Limited Mohammad Iqbal Chowdhury was also present as a discussant of the seminar.
Elaborating various aspects of "Participatory Leadership", Dr Atiur Rahman said, Bangladesh was on track to become a trillion-dollar economy and the trustworthy leadership in Bangladesh has been mobilising resources to ensure sustainability of the socio-economic gains.
He highlighted different challenges of leadership and focused that the leadership challenge is growing and becoming more important in the context of evolving organisation.
He also mentioned that the ICSB members were playing a vital role in establishing good governance in private and public limited companies of the country using their leadership and human resource skills.
In his welcome speech, Asad Ullah said that through this kind of programme, members of the institute had been enormously benefited with the updated knowledge.
