ICSB team meets NBR chairman

Institute of Chartered Secretaries of Bangladesh (ICSB) Wednesday urged National Board of Revenue (NBR) to allow Chartered Secretary professionals to become income tax practitioners like Chartered Accountants and Cost & Management Accountants under the Income Tax Ordinance, 1984.
The ICSB made the plea when a delegation, led by its president Mohammad Sanaullah, FCS along with other office-bearers met Md. Mosharaf Hossain Bhuiyan, ndc, Senior Secretary, Internal Resource Division (IRD) and Chairman, NBR at his office.
"The NBR chairman listened to our proposal very positively and assured his cooperation for the development of the profession of Chartered Secretary," a statement of ICSB said.
Md. Selim Reza FCS, Vice President, Nazmul Karim FCS, Treasurer, Kazi Md. Shamsul Alam, Secretary and Md. Shamibur Rahman ACS, Director (A&F) of the Institute were also present in the meeting.
The ICSB president briefed the NBR chairman on various ongoing activities of the Institute and thanked him for his generous support and cooperation for the Institute, the statement added.
