The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Thursday adjourned the hearing of the trial of Jamaat-e-Islami leader Mawlana Abdus Subhan till July 20. The second tribunal set the date accepting a time plea from the prosecution. Today was fixed for cross-examination of 21st prosecution witness (PW) Md Shahidullah, who testified against the Jamaat nayeb-e-ameer yesterday, accusing him of ordering the killing of one Samujuddin in village Kulunia in Pabna on May 11, 1971. But this (Thursday) morning as the tribunal started its proceedings, prosecutor Sultan Mahmud Simon sought time saying the witness
suddenly became ill and in no condition to face the questions of the defence. Accepting the plea, the ICT-2 adjourned the hearing till July 20. Subhan, 77, was indicted on December 31, 2013, on 9 counts of crimes against humanity by the ICT-1. On March 27, 2014, the ICT-1 transferred the case to ICT-2 for quick disposal, according to BSS.
