ICT-2 to hold indictment hearing in Abu Sayed killing case on July 28

The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 on Tuesday set July 28 for holding hearing on charge framing in a crimes against humanity case lodged over the killing of Begum Rokeya University (BRU) student Abu Sayed during the July-August Uprising, reports BSS.
The three-judge panel of the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 led by Justice Md Nozrul Islam Chowdhury passed the order in presence of the six out of the total 30 accused in the case.
The second tribunal also ordered to appoint six state defence to defend the cases for 24 fugitive accused to hold the trial in absentia.
ICT Chief Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam took part in the hearing.
The ICT-2 on June 30 issued arrest warrants against 26 accused, including former vice-chancellor of Begum Rokeya University (BRU) Professor Dr Md Hasibur Rashid in the case. The tribunal had passed the order, taking the formal charge filed by the prosecution earlier on that day, into cognizance.
The investigation agency of the ICT on June 24 filed its probe report in the case, bringing charges against 30 people.
