ICT award for Bangladesh

Bangladesh will receive the ‘Global ICT Excellence Award’ for using Information Technology to promote socio-economic development. Sajeeb Wajed Joy, ICT advisor to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and also her son, broke the news at an event in New York on Sunday night (US eastern standard time). The award will be handed over on September 30 in Mexico’s Guadalajara during a conference of the World Congress on ICT. ICT experts around the world will be present at the event. World Information Technology and Service Alliance (WTSA) committee, comprising 80-member states, gives the award for best innovation in the sector, Joy said, according to bdnews24.com.
