ICT-based exhibition begins tomorrow

A five-day long ICT-based exhibition, 'BCS ICT World', organised by Banngladesh Computer Samity (BCS) will begin tomorrow (Monday) at Bangabandhu International Conference Centre with the slogan, 'Digital education is the base of digital Bangladesh.'
Finance Minister AMA Muhith is expected to inaugurate the event where almost 50 organisations from home and abroad will participate, said organisers at a press conference in city Saturday.
ICT Business Promotion Council of Commerce Ministry is patronising the event in order to uphold Information Technology-based business in the country.
Organiser informed the media that a total of five seminars on different vital issues including freelance outsourcing, software patent and ICT education would be arranged during the fair.
Entrance fee has been fixed at Tk 20 but school students will get free access to the fair which will have different entertainment programmes including 'celebrity show, scholar reception, quiz competition, product show and magic show'.
President of BCS Mostafa Zabbar said the extra focus of the event is that the people will be able to participate in the expo through online (www.bcsictworld.bd).
The site will be developed from time to time, he added.
Zabbar said the organisation will set up a corner for digital art competition.
The trade body will award a 'gold medal' for best contribution to IT sector, he disclosed.
