The International Crimes Tribunal has issued a stern warning to Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury for his remarks on its judges and described him as ‘wrong-headed’. The ICT-2 led by Justice Obaidul Hassan issued the warning on Monday while delivering its decision over contempt charges brought against him. On June 19, the tribunal penalised Chowdhury for his statement regarding the punishment given to British national and journalist David Bergman. He was made to stand in the dock for an hour and fined Tk 5,000. After being in the dock for an hour, he told the media that the verdict was a ‘result of mental illness’ of the three judges. On August 10, Chowdhury’s lawyer told the court that he tendered an ‘unconditional apology’ for the remarks, according to bdnews24.com.
