ICT orders to end probe against eight police officials within two months

The International Crime Tribunal (ICT) has ordered the authorities concerned to complete investigation against eight police officials within the next two months for their alleged involvement in the crimes against humanity, reports BSS.
The three-member panel of the tribunal headed by its Chairman Justice Md Golam Mortuza Majumder passed the order on Thursday, asking the authority to submit the probe report on February 20 next. Prosecutor ABM Sultan Mahmud moved for the tribunal.
Earlier, former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Chowdhury Abdullah-Al-Mamun, director general of the National Telecommunication Monitoring Committee (NTMC) major general (Rtd) Ziaul Ahsan and six other police officers were produced before the tribunal.
The other police officers are former Deputy Commissioner (DC) of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police Mirpur Division Md Jasim Uddin Mollah, former police super of Dhaka-Savar area Md Abdullah Al Kafi, additional police super (Adi.SP) Savar Circle in Dhaka district Md Shahidul Islam, former officer-in-charge (OC) Gulshan Md Majaharul Haque, former OC Jatrabari Abul Hasan and former Inspector of the Detective Branch (DB) Dhaka North Md Arafat Hossain.
