ICT rejects Inu's plea seeking review of indictment for July crimes
Monday, 1 December 2025
The International Crimes Tribunal (ICT)-2 has rejected a petition filed by former Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu, seeking a review of its order that indicted him for alleged crimes against humanity committed during the July Mass Uprising, reports BSS.
The two-member tribunal rejected Inu's plea, in which he had described the July incident as a 'so-called uprising.'
Following the tribunal's order, ICT Prosecutor Abdus Subhan Tarafdar presented an opening statement in the case. At the end of Sunday's proceedings, the second tribunal adjourned the hearing until today (Monday), when the prosecution witnesses are scheduled to start testifying.
The ICT-2 on November 2 indicted Hasanul Haque Inu, framing eight specific charges of crimes against humanity against him.
