
ICT seeks interpol red notice against 10, including AL's Quader, Kamal

The ICT chief prosecutor's office sent a letter to the IGP to request INTERPOL to issue red alert against ten in connection with a crimes against humanity case filed over the July uprising.
International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Chief Prosecutor Muhammad Tajul Islam in a meeting on Thursday said that other relevant documents were sent to the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to initiate the request process.
The ten individuals include: Obaidul Quader, Awami League (AL) general secretary; Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal, former home minister; AKM Mozammel Haque, former Liberation War Affairs minister; Hasan Mahmud, former Information and Broadcasting minister; and Jahangir Kabir Nanak, former Textile and Jute minister.
The list also included Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh, former mayor of Dhaka South City Corporation; Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury Nowfel, former education minister; Nasrul Hamid Bipu, former state minister for Power, Energy, and Mineral Resources; Mohammad A Arafat, former State Minister for Information and Broadcasting; and Tarique Ahmed Siddique, former Defence Adviser of Sheikh Hasina.
Earlier on November 12, the chief prosecutor's office sent a letter seeking International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL) red alert against the ousted Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the same charges.
