Two ‘Razakars’ (collaborator of Pakistani occupation forces in 1971) – Sheikh Sirajul Haque aka ‘Siraj Master’ and Khan Akram Hossain – are waiting to hear the verdict of the first war crimes tribunal of Bangladesh on Tuesday. They were indicted on 7 war crimes charges, including torture, abduction, loot, murders, and mass killings of unarmed civilians along with Abdul Latif Talukder during Bangladesh’s independence struggles in 1971. Talukder, 75, died of old age complications at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on July 27. The Justice M Enayetur Rahim-led International Crimes Tribunal-1 will read out the judgment around 10am on Tuesday. This will be the 21st verdict since the long-awaited trial of the 1971 war crimes suspects began with the tribunal on March 25, 2010, according to a news agency.
