IDB, IBF hold meeting on Fael Khair programme

A management committee meeting on Fael Khair programme conducted by the Islami Bank Foundation and financed by Islamic Development Bank (IDB) for the assistance of the cyclone-affected people was held at Islami Bank Tower in the city Thursday.
Mohammad Hassan Salem, head of Special Assistance Office, IDB, Jeddah, presided over the meeting attended, among others, by IDB-Bangladesh Islamic Solidarity Educational Waqf General Manager Neaz Khan, Islami Bank Foundation committee members Kazi Harun ar Rashed and Fazle Azim, Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited Deputy Managing Director and Head of Operations Wing Mohammad Shamsul Hoque, Executive Vice President Md Nurul Islam, senior vice presidents Md Obaidul Haque and Asheque Ahmed Jebal and Vice President Md Mahboob Alam.
Profit-free investment amounting from ten thousand taka to seventy five thousand taka will be given under this programme to the cyclone-affected people to buy seeds, fertiliser, pesticide, agricultural tools, domestic animal, fishing boat, fish meal and to finance the small traders.
A memorandum of understanding was signed between the Islamic Development Bank and the Islami Bank Foundation on May 13, 2008 for distribution of $ 4.5 million among the cyclone Sidr-affected people.
