IDLC Finance holds workshop on bond mkts in S Asia

IDLC Finance Limited, the largest multi-product non-banking financial institution in Bangladesh, recently organised a two-day long workshop under the title 'Bond Markets in South Asia: Theory vs market practice, regulatory atmosphere, and development potentials', said a press release.
Professionals from banks and financial institutions, merchant banks, issue managers, underwriters, Bangladesh, and corporate institutions involved with the origination, issue, purchase, and trading of bond participated the workshop, which was conducted by Vinod Kothari, an internationally acclaimed financial consultant from India.
Kothari is a chartered accountant by qualification and also an internationally recognised author, trainer and consultant on different specialised financial instruments/subjects.
In addition to Kothari, Commissioner of Securities & Exchange Commission Arif Khan and DGM & Head of Structured Finance, IDLC Finance Limited Mesbah Uddin Ahmed shared their valuable knowledge and experience with the participants regarding the regulatory, arranger and local market perspective.
This workshop told the participants about theoretical concept of bond, understanding of origination process, legal and regulatory framework, development potentials and overall scenario of bond market.
Chairman of IIDFC M Matiul Islam inaugurated the workshop as the chief guest.
