IFC-BICF selects six research proposals

IFC Bangladesh Investment Climate Fund (IFC-BICF) has selected six research proposals for its Small Grants Programme (SGP) that will be formally launched today (Thursday).

Eminent economist and Chairman of Economic Research Group Wahiduddin Mahmud will attend IFC-BICF's SGP launching programme to be held at Sonargaon hotel today (Thursday). IFC senior programme manager Syed Akhtar Mahmood will also be present at the launching ceremony.

In the first round of the programme, 66 research teams submitted research proposals, out of which a total of 6 proposals have been selected for funding.

The selected proposals focus on broad topics related to the business environment, including the role of capital markets, the impacts of arbitration on investor protection, regional investment climate dynamics and the role of the media in influencing national policy on investment climate issues.
