IGP asked to rescue Rizwana\\\'s husband

State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan on Wednesday said the IGP has been instructed to carry out a coordinated drive with the help of police, Rab and the intelligence agency to rescue Abu Bakar Siddique, husband of Bela chief executive Syeda Rizwana Hasan, unhurt. “We’ve instructed the Inspector General of Police (IGP) to carry out a coordinated drive with the help of police, Rab and the intelligence agency so that Abu Bakar Siddique could be rescued unhurt,” he told journalists at the Secretariat. Asaduzzaman said the car used in the abduction could be traced and it will be seized anytime soon. Asked whether there has been any law and order downslide as frequent incidents of kidnapping are reported, the junior minister said, “Yah, one or two incidents of kidnapping are reported and the victims are also rescued… there’s nothing to be worried about.” Unidentified miscreants abducted Abu Bakar Siddique, husband of Rizwana Hasan, the chief executive of Bangladesh Environmental Lawyers’ Association (Bela), at Fatulla in Narayanganj on Dhaka-Narayanganj Link Road on Wednesday, according to UNB.
