IHC clarifies position on barring Bangladesh TV channels

In response to a comment from a Bangladesh media representative, the spokesperson of the Indian High Commission (IHC) in Dhaka clarified in a press release Sunday, said:
The High Commission's attention has been drawn to an observation in Bangladesh media that government of India has barred television channels from Bangladesh.
Indian government has not imposed any ban on television channels from Bangladesh from down linking or distribution in India.
All foreign television channels including those from Bangladesh, and their down linking or distribution through Cable Television Networks and DHT operator in India, are governed by rules and guidelines notified from time to time by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India.
