Ilias Mollah sued for assaulting police sergeant

SAVAR, July 9 (UNB): A police sergeant filed a case against Ilias Uddin Mollah, Member of Parliament (MP) of Dhaka-16 constituency with Ashulia thana Thursday for assaulting him on June 16.
According to the case statement, the private car of Ilias Mollah got stranded on EPZ-Abdullahpur road due to severe traffic jam on June 16.
When the MP asked the reason behind the traffic jam, on duty police sergeant Shariful Islam could not give him satisfactory reply.
Later, the angry MP hurled abusive words at him and at one stage slapped and beat him severely with a stick.
After the incident, assaulted Shariful Islam informed the matter to police super of Dhaka Iqbal Bahar and IGP Nur Mohammad.
Later, the victim filed the case with the Ashulia thana Thursday night against the MP.
