Illegal rock extraction resumes in Nilphamari

NILPHAMARI, Oct 9: Illegal rock extraction by the banned heavy drilled dredger machines has started again recently in Nilphamari district. Sources said after ban had been imposed sand, rock and stone extraction was stopped. But defying the ban some traders began extracting those materials in Dalia, Sotokhata, Khalisa Chapani, Goyabari and Sutibari villages of Dimla Upazila in Nilphamari District recently.
Sources add Nilphamari has been supplying rock to all over the country's construction sites for some decades.
