A Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) mobile court in Dhaka on Sunday unearthed an illegal veterinary medicine factory and fined three people, including its managing director, a total of Tk 0.4 million. The mobile court also sealed off the factory at Matuail in the city and destroyed a huge quantity of unauthorised medicines, which included Hamogen and Derma Spray, two types of antibiotic injections, Tolmic 2.5 per cent for use as pain killer, and injections LD-Phos and Multivit-Forte for fattening cattle. Sources at the RAB headquarters said that a mobile court of RAB-10, led by magistrate AHM Anwar Pasha, conducted a drive in Matuail under Demra police station at about 6:00 am and unearthed the illegal veterinary medicine factory, named ‘Life Agrovet Bangladesh Ltd’. Sixteen veterinary doctors, including several government officials, were running the factory, Dr Abdus Samad Mia, who had been acting as its managing director, told the mobile court, according to a news agency.
