FE Report
Dr Sachiko Yamamoto, regional director of International Labour Organisation (ILO) for Asia and the Pacific, arrives in the capital on a four-day visit to Bangladesh on August 18.
Officials said the visit of Dr Sachiko is significant in view of the global financial crisis and its impact on the country's economic condition especially on the overseas employment market.
They said as Bangladesh is a member of ILO governing body, her visit also carries some importance in the ILO's future decision making process.
"Her visit is a follow-up of the ILO Geneva conference held in last June," Panudda Boonpala, director of ILO, told the FE.
