Imam of a mosque killed, 25 hurt in road mishaps

SYLHET, Sept 7 (UNB) An Imam of a mosque was killed and 23 others, including a journalist, were injured in separate road accidents here Friday night.brImam Moulana Abdul Jalil (40) died on the spot and three others were injured when a Sherpur-bound bus rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying them at Lalbazar in South Surma Upazila on the Dhaka-Sylhet highway at about 830 pm.brMoulana Abdul Jalil, son of Abdul Musabbir of Kuchai village in Balaganj Upazila was also secretary of Osmani Nagar Thana Jatiya Imam Samity.brIn another incident, at least 20 passengers were injured when a Sunamganj-bound bus fell into a roadside ditch at Mollargaon on the Sylhet-Sunamganj road at about 900 pm.brOf the injured, five were admitted to the Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital in critical condition.brIn yet another incident two people, including ATN Bangla Sylhet correspondent Mujibur Rahman, were injured when a mud loaded truck hit a CNG-run auto-rickshaw carrying them at Parayerchak on the Sylhet-Fenchuganj road at about 1015 am.
