IMED website launched

Friday, 27 July 2007

The website of Implementation, Monitoring and Evaluation Division (IMED) of the Ministry of Planning was launched Thursday, aiming to ensure transparency and accountability of the development projects, reports UNB
"The government believes in transparency and accountability," Finance and Planning Adviser Dr Mirza Azizul Islam said, inaugurating the website at a function at the IMED conference room.
He expected that the initiative to publish information and data of the development projects would be complementary in fulfilling the people's expectations about institutionalising transparency and accountability.
"Government's procurement process has been criticised in the past for lack of transparency," the Adviser said, hoping that the website would play a positive role in overcoming the criticism of corruption in the procurement process.
