Thursday, 27 March 2014

The International Monetary Fund announced on Thursday a $14-$18 billion bailout for Ukraine aimed at keeping the crisis-hit country from going insolvent amid its escalating standoff with Russia. The Fund's Ukrainian mission chief Nikolai Georgiyev told reporters that the rescue would be the key part of a broader package released by other governments and agencies amounting to $27 billion over the next two years, according to AFP.
