PERFORMANCE in the examinations is important for any student. Sometimes students score good results, sometimes bad. How should students tackle the situation when they perform bad in the exam and what could be the roles of the parents and guardians?
When students perform bad in the examinations, they should keep their morale high. They should not think that only performance in the examinations determines the success of someone. They also should not think that since they have performed bad in the examinations, bad result has been written for them in their fortune and they are sure to make bad result in the upcoming exams.
When result is bad, do not think you have come to this world to make bad results only. You do have immense potentials and you can make impossible possible.
You may learn from your mistakes and may start with new vigour for the new semester or new year. If you do not repeat the mistakes that you made during the last year/semester, you are sure to do good in the current semester/year.
If you give efforts, you might be able to overcome the best students of the class. Best students of the class usually think that they would make good results naturally. If you are very serious, you will be able to concentrate fully and you can make even better results than the best students of the class.
When students make bad result in the exam, guardians and others put them into humiliation. As a consequence of being rebuked severally, students suffer very seriously. Sometimes they are seen even to commit suicide. Ideally, parents and others should support the students at this time. They should give them mental courage. They should tell positive words to the learners. Only by telling positive words to them and not uttering any negative words they may help them overcome the critical time and be successful in the upcoming examinations.
Most importantly, the learners who performed bad in the examinations should start believing on their own strength. When they will start believing on their own strength, they will start getting inner energy. Students may remember the example of Adam, a multimillionaire of Singapore in this regard. Adam receives USD fifty thousand dollar for his every hour's speech. In his book 'I am gifted, so are you' he has mentioned how, during his student life,he became good in Maths. Previously he was very bad in mathematics. He grew the firm belief that he would never do good in maths. Meanwhile, he joined a 'Self learning Tour'-a self improvement course. There he was told that he could break any of his age-old belief and could make new belief. He was suggested to destroy harmful belief and to develop new and fresh belief. Accordingly Adam thought that he must break the belief that he was not good in mathematics. At that time he just became a student of college. Before the first class began, he bought the maths book and read the first chapter at home. He practised sums of every rule at home. He went to the college. It was a new environment for him. After some time attention of the students went to various directions. But Adam was attentive. It was fifteen minutes to end the class. The teacher asked: "I have given you one sum on the board based on the rule I have discussed in the class. Who can do this?" Only one student in the class raised the hand and it was Adam. When he did the sum on the board, the whole class gave a clap. Everyone was surprised. His name on the first day was 'Maths Genius'. In order to receive clap and appreciation of his friends, he used to do sums ahead of the class and used to do sums on the board in the class regularly. His teachers also declared him as 'Maths Genius'. His friends used to come to him even for the most difficult sums,
Just like Adams, if you can change your belief, you can be successful. Whatever your result was in the past exams, you can make good result in the upcoming exams.
