Improving healthcare service at home
Sunday, 1 November 2020
Thousands of rich and middle class Bangladeshis once went to countries such as India, Singapore and Thailand for medicaltreatmentuntil the outbreak of the coronavirus. So, all irrespective of their economic status were bound to take treatment at home during the shutdown especially during thesuspension of flights to and from different countries. However, according to reports, some of the affluent people have started going abroad especially toTurkey and the UAE for treatment of late.
Choice of hospitals and doctors is such a sensitive issue that it's not decent to criticise those who are going abroad for treatment. Also, this trend says a lot about the state of healthcare system of the country, which was plagued by scams and there werepublic outcries against those during the pandemic. So, our aim should be to develop quality health professionals and build a world-class health infrastructure so that people from other countries come to Bangladesh for treatment.
