Increased production of milk stressed

RANGPUR, Mar 4 (BSS): Speakers at a workshop Thursday emphasised increasing production of cow milk, enhancing its marketing facilities and promoting consumption at the grassroots level to meet the people's nutritional demands.
They were addressing the workshop organised by Birampur Development Council (BDC) with the assistance of Practical Action Bangladesh (PAB) at Birampur Upazila auditorium in Dinajpur.
Birampur Upazila Livestock Officer Dr AM Mossarraf Hussein chaired the workshop titled 'Roles of Educational Institutions, Religious Leaders, GO-NGOs in Disseminating Nutritional Information of Cow Milk for increasing its Consumers'.
Upazila Chairman Khairul Alam Raju attended the workshop as chief guest while Upazila Education Officer Akhterul Islam, Agriculture Officer Shah Alam, Senior Agro-processing Specialist of PAB Enayet Hossain Tarafder and Executive Director of BDC Hafizur Rahman attended as special guests.
Technical Officer of PAB Monwarul Islam conducted various sessions of the workshop and BDC executive Moynul Haque moderated it.
Over 100 participants including schoolteachers, small-scale rural milk producers and processors, milkmen, religious leaders, government and NGO officials and executives, public representatives, professionals, community leaders and elite took part.
