Increasing gas and electricity prices

Gas and electricity prices are about to increase. The news has been appearing in our media quite regularly. The latest word that came from Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission is that it has recommended increase in gas and electricity prices. There is no doubt that the prices are going to be raised shortly. The move when implemented shall definitely have an adverse effect on the lives of people belonging to fixed income group. After several increases in the price of electricity, the government has now decided to raise the gas price also. As a result, the financial hardships of the common people will be greater.   
All governments are oblivious of the miseries of the people and the people are burdened with the cost of their lack of governance and misrule on the contrary. This is what we experience in our country and many other countries of the developing world. This seems to be an irreversible situation and we do not know when and how we shall get out of this vicious circle and have a peaceful time ahead.
