Increasing police-media cooperation stressed

RANGPUR, Aug 10 (BSS): Police personnel and media personnel at a meeting here today stressed the need for mutual trust and cooperation in the greater national interest.
The views exchange meeting titled 'Police and Media Relationship' for the police officials and media people of five districts in greater Rangpur was organised by the Rangpur district police administration in Rangpur Police Hall auditorium.
Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Rajshahi Range of Bangladesh Police AKM Shahidul Haque was the main discussant at the meeting chaired by Superintendent of Police (SP) of Rangpur Hasib Aziz.
Over 80 working journalists and all officers-in-charge (OCs) of 35 police stations and SPs and senior police officials of Rangpur, Kurigram, Nilphamari, Gaibandha and Lalmonirhat districts took part in the meeting.
The DIG focussed on different aspects of police-media relationship and asked for open discussion on the issue for building mutual trust, confidence and cooperation for the two professional groups to provide better services for the nation.
Some participants highlighted the reasons behind the occasional ups and downs in police-media relationship and suggested measures to improve the same.
