RANGPUR, Apr 25 (bdnews24.com): Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) has gone on a wildcat strike at Rangpur Medical College (RMC) following an attack on two of its leaders.
RMC unit president of BCL Ashfaqul Haque Khandaker Pulak and its organising secretary Sohag Hossain were hacked indiscriminately in Dr Mukta Hall Monday morning, police and BCL activists said.
They were asleep when a group of unknown miscreants swooped on them, they said.
Pulak and Sohag were admitted to RMC hospital.
Immediately after the attack, BCL activists went on the indefinite strike demanding immediate arrest of the attackers and removal of the RMC principal.
They also took out a procession on the campus.
RMC unit general secretary of BCL Sanjay Sarker told journalists that they would continue the strike until fulfillment of their demands.
