Indefinite transport strike in greater Mymenisngh from Tuesday

MYMENSINGH: Dhaka Divisional (North) Transport Owners-Workers Oikya Parishad  Monday called an indefinite strike from Tuesday in all districts of greater Mymensingh to press home their seven-point demand, including the withdrawal of Netrakona deputy commissioner Dr Abul Kalam Azad, according to a news agency.
Convener of the parishad Aminul Haque Shamim announced the strike at a press briefing at the office of District Motor Owners’ Association in the afternoon.
The other demands include imposing a ban on plying of unregistered vehicles, implementation of the agreement between Owners-Workers Oikya Parishad and government, taking steps to stop extortion by police, withdrawal of a provision under section 302.
