Indefinite transport strike in Pabna from Thursday

Transport owners and workers will go on an indefinite strike in the district from Thursday morning demanding the unconditional release of their three fellows. Police arrested driver of a ‘Kabya Paribahan’ bus Rezaul Hossain, its supervisor Abdul Momin and helper Shahin from Shahjadpur on February 14. Later, a case was filed against them with Kalihati Police Station. On Sunday, police produced them before a court and sought remand. The court fixed March 22 for hearing the remand pleas. Outraged by the police act, the transport owners and workers of Pabna staged demonstrations in the district town on Wednesday. They held a rally at Pabna Motor Workers Union office on Wednesday night from where they announced the strike programme, according to a news agency.
