India, Bangladesh customs agree to share info

Customs officials of Bangladesh and India have agreed to share intelligence information to prevent smuggling of goods, narcotics, and psychotropic drugs. In their 10th Joint Group of Customs (JGC) meeting in New Delhi Thursday, they also took several decisions "to remove administrative complexities and operational barriers for quicker passage of goods through the ports". National Board of Revenue Member Md Farid Uddin led the Bangladesh delegation while Director General of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence Najib Shah led the Indian side in the meeting. Bangladesh foreign ministry said both sides had "constructive discussions on further promotion and facilitation of trade between the two countries". — bdnews24.com
