India Bangladesh ODI: disappointing series

Wednesday, 25 June 2014

The recently concluded Bangladesh-India one day international series failed to provoke any interest among the sports lovers, mainly due to the ongoing World Cup football extravaganza. The rain also took the gloss away from the series. In that consideration the ODI series were scheduled for the wrong time as we are passing now full monsoon season.  The Tigers lost the series by 2-0 as the third one-day was washed away by heavy rain.
Bangladesh came close to winning in the second one-day international but due to their sloppy batting they missed the chance. We need to prepare bouncy cricket pitch if we want to get success out of Bangladesh. Moreover our players have to cultivate the mentality to play long innings as they lack patience when they go for batting and always throw away their wickets cheaply. We have seen that the Tigers failed to reach even a target like 105 and it proves their inability to cope with fast pitches. Even Indian batsmen also struggled in fast pitches. We should prepare both slow and fast pitches so our players can get adapted to both conditions.
