India bats first: Mominul closer to de Villiers\\\' mark

Wednesday, 10 June 2015

India won the toss and elected to bat in the one-off Test against Bangladesh at Khan Saheb Osman Ali Stadium in Fatullah in Narayanganj city on Wednesday morning. The match is scheduled to kick off at 10:00am (Bangladesh Standard Time). Meanwhile, Bangladesh’s Momimul Haque is on the verge of equalling South African batsman AB de Villiers’ record of most consecutive fifties in Test cricket. However, in a prematch interview with ‘ESPNCricinfo’, Mominul said “You remind me of it (the record) but then I forget about it. I don’t feel pressure. I will not think about it after you all go from here. I will try not to remember it next time too.” De Villiers notched up his 50s between 2012 and 2014. Mominul’s run began in 2013 and he is one short of equalling de Villiers. Mominul expects the wicket to be slow in the match against India. “I think the wicket will be slow side on Wednesday. I will see how the wicket behaves. I don’t get wickets much. I ‘ll try to play this way,” according to NDTV.
