India-BD security talks from Monday

The director general (DG) level formal border talks between Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Indian Border Security Force - will begin in New Delhi Monday, report agencies.
BGB DG Maj Gen Aziz Ahmed will lead a 22-member Bangladesh delegation while his counterpart BSF DG Devendra Kumar Pathak a 24- member delegation to the conference.
The border guards of the two neighboring countries sit in top level meeting two times every year. The last meeting was held in Dhaka on December 29 last year.
A crucial Director General level border coordination conference between New Delhi and Dhaka will discuss strategies to stop trans-border crimes and smuggling of fake Indian currency notes (FICN).
This is the second such top security level formal talks between both the countries especially after the Burdwan bomb blasts in October last year.
"During the six-day talks, both sides will work out fresh strategies to deal with criminal activities of a serious nature," a senior official in India's home ministry told news agency.
This is also the first Director General level conference after the Bangladesh visit by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Dhaka.
 A senior BSF official said that prevention of illegal migration, joint efforts for effective implementation of CBMP and confidence building measures are in the agenda of discussion.
 The Bangladesh delegation will arrive in New Delhi on Sunday.
 The first session of the border coordination conference between the BSF and BGB will begin Monday.
 "During the conference, senior officers of BSF, MHA, MEA, National Investigation Agecny and other sister agencies along with Survey of India are going to take part in bilateral talks," the official said.
 The visiting delegation will also call on Home Minister Rajnath Singh and other senior officers of the ministry.
