Touring Indian Women's team made a flying start beating Bangladesh Women's team by 16 runs in the first match of the three-match T20 series at Sheikh Kamal International Cricket Stadium in Cox's Bazar Sunday, reports UNB.
Replying to Indian Women's 101 runs, Bangladesh Women's were all out for 85 runs in 20 overs.
Number six Rumana Ahmed scored 21 runs off 24 balls while opener Ayesha Rahman scored 18 runs off 29 balls with two boundaries.
Bangladesh skipper Salma Khatun made 15 runs off 17 balls with a four while one down Sanjida Islam also made 15 runs off 25 balls with two fours.
Sravanthi Krishnamurthy claimed 4 wickets for 9 runs in her 3 overs spell to be adjudged player of the match.
Gouher Sultana and Jhulan Goswami captured two wickets each for 11 and 14 runs respectively while Shikha Pandey took one wicket for 14 runs.
Earlier, batting first, after winning the toss, Indian Women's team scored 101 runs in 20 overs for the loss of one wicket.
Skipper cum opener Mithali Raj scored unbeaten 55 runs off 64 balls with four fours while one down Poonam Raut made not out 42 runs off 46 balls with two fours.
Latika Kumari was sent back to the pavilion with a duck, bowled by Jahanara Alam who conceded 12 runs in her 3 overs.
