India logs 7.8% GDP growth in latest quarter, says ministry

MUMBAI, Aug 29 (AFP): India's economy grew by 7.8 percent in the April to June quarter, beating analyst expectations, official data showed Friday.
Growth was up from 7.4 percent recorded in the previous quarter, and zoomed past market forecasts of 6.7 percent.
"Real GDP has been estimated to grow by 7.8 percent in Q1 of FY (fiscal year) 2025-26 over the growth rate of 6.5 percent during Q1 of FY 2024-25," the statistics ministry said in a statement.
