India maintains its commitments: Pranab

Indian President Pranab Mukherjee has highly appreciating Bangladesh’s achievement in socio-economic sectors. He said Bangladesh is going ahead economically. ‘Despite global economic downturn Bangladesh is making tremendous achievement in different areas . . . it is maintaining steady GDP growth and its per capita income and remittance earnings are also increasing,’ said the Indian President during a meeting with Bangladesh President Abdul Hamid, who is now in New Delhi on a 6-day state visit. About land boundary agreement (LBA) and Teesta water sharing issues, Pranab Mukherjee said: ‘India always maintains its commitments.’ About boosting import from Bangladesh, he said India will have to invest more in Bangladesh to boost its import from it, according to a news agency.
