FE Report
India will soon return the partially damaged Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) aircraft PT-6 which landed in a paddy field in Pashchimbanga due to inclement weather on April 25.
Bangladesh officials are expecting that India will deliver the aircraft in the second week of June after conducting an aeronautical and military investigation.
Bad weather compelled the pilot of the training aircraft to land on a paddy field 60 kilometres from Indo-Bangladesh border at Salar village in Murshidabad district of Pashchimbanga.
"We are expecting that the aircraft will be returned to us by mid-June according to the communications we already had with the Indian officials," a high official of the Foreign Ministry told FE.
He said after completion of the required notifications to the concerned agencies, India will rescue the aircraft by a special carrier of Indian Air Force and will send it to Benapole Land Customs by road. The aircraft would be brought back to BAF Jessore base after receiving it from Indian authority, sources said.
