Indian air force hands over 1971 Dakota aircraft

Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief of Eastern Air Command of the Indian Air Force Air Marshal SB Deo formally handed over the Dakota (DC-3) aircraft Monday, which has been installed at the Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) Museum, Tejgaon, reports UNB.
This Dakota aircraft took part in the para-drop operations in Tangail on December 11, 1971 during the Liberation War, said an official media release.
The Dakota aircraft has special significance for BAF as it started its journey from Nagaland, Dimapur on September 28, 1971 with the establishment of 'K' flight which possessed one Dakota DC-3, one Otter aircraft and one Alluette helicopter.
