Indian cattle trader shot dead by BSF in Naogaon

An Indian cattle trader was gunned down and another injured by India’s Border Security Force (BSF) personnel on Bamonpara border at Sapahar upazila in Noagaon district on Tuesday. Both the deceased, whose identity could not be confirmed yet, and the injured hail form Dakshin Dinajpur of India’s West Bengal state. Lieutenant Colonel Rafiqul Islam of Naogaon BGB Battalion-46 said a BSF patrol team opened fire on a group of Indian cattle traders while entering Bangladesh with cattle from India through Bamonpara border point around 5:30am, leaving one of them dead on the spot and another, identified as Zillur, injured. BGB members later arrested Zillur for entering Bangladesh territory without any valid documents. A letter was sent to the BSF asking for holding a flag meeting to return the Indian, he said, according to UNB.
